UI UX app design - Sportner
Case Study
“Sportner” is a great app for finding new partners to train together.
The Problem
Today, many people spend their time working in large buildings. Hours upon hours are enough to wear their bodies. They want to do sport but don’t know how to find a partner to train together.
The Solution
An app that finds matches of partners between these people and connects them. The app is called “Sportner”- sport+partner.
Target Audience
People between the ages of 20-60 who work in big buildings.
User Research
I started the project off by doing qualitative research. I asked hi-tech workers to answer the survey I built. I wanted to get their perspective and understand their needs. Through my research and the final survey results, I realized what is important for my target audience in finding a partner. Later, it became the base
of the UX design.
Pensona and User-Flow
With all the insights I've gathered from my research, I moved forward and started creating a persona for the user. This allowed me to understand his needs and pain points, which helped inform my user flow better.
Wireframes
I started working on the wireframes next. I created the screens that detailed the process. I questioned myself a lot along the way, making sure that my user flow made sense when translated into the wireframe design.
Visual Design -UI
color palette
For the color palette, I chose two main colors - blue and orange. The colors contrast with each other which gives a good feeling to the eye. The blue expresses the freshness of the feeling of the sport and the orange expresses the energy, ambition, and intensive training. The two colors together symbolize the two partners training together.
For a secondary color, I chose grey-light blue which symbolizes the office.
Shape line and text styles
The general style follows a clean line with touches of special and trendy elements, a cool and glamorous style. When the user presses certain buttons, a glowing aura appears around them and gives an exciting and innovative feeling. Vector illustrations accompany the application and add a trendy, light, and clear touch. The icons are stylized in a thin-medium and rounded line.
Entrance
Friendly entrance screen that leads the user to the Signup or Login page. After the registration the user entrances to the homepage.
Registration
A friendly registration to keep essential details about the user.
Trainings
Here are the important screens that arrange the trainnings clearly and comfortably.
Partners
The goal of Sportner- here the user can find new partners, can filter, and contact them. And it doesn't end here, there is an option of creating a group of partners, to maximize the training.
Prototype
Key takeaways
This was a significant project as it allowed me to dip into the various stages of product design. From research, to interviews with the users, and up to the actual designing, I've thoroughly enjoyed my learning journey.
