Album Covers - Design Project

These are two album covers I created using Adobe Illustrator, both based on fictional bands that I created. The first is based around Acoustic Rock, and the second is based on Gangsta Rap.

The first cover was created by taking an image of a forest and converting it into a vector image, which created this beautifully vintage layering effect. Next, I created the image of the figure holding the guitar, but in the theme of the album, I faded out the head, hands, and feet of the figure to give them a ghost-like vibe.

The second cover was created by sketching out a machine gun in Adobe Illustrator, and creating a flowing, smoke-like collection of characters for the main title. The idea is that the album title is made of gunsmoke, so adding a glow and smoke effect to the illustration helped sell this concept.
