Remodeled Children's Book
Problem / Goal
Re-designing the book cover of Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Dog Days) written by Jeff Kinney. One thing I noticed about the already existing cover was that the designer used stick figures to portray the main character Greg and a bright yellow to set the vibe of summertime which is when the story takes place. My goal for this project was to bring that character on the front page to life and include expression and attitude rather than just a simple stick figure. I believe that teens/children tend to read books more catching to the eye and that have exciting colors. I also wanted to bring a few similar elements from the existing book cover which included paper texture and playful fonts.
