First For Freedom: Proposed State Flag of Illinois

This flag is to commemorate Illinois as the first state to ratify the 13th amendment free enslaved peoples. This on a cardinal (state bird of Illinois) background along with a union shield brings a strong sense of strength. The three stars are for the three distinct parts of the state, south, central and north.
