Camunda skill test

Camunda challenged me to design a lowfi new version of their SaaS homepage.

Problem Setup

We get people logging into our Camunda trial, but we don't get enough users interacting with the application after they log in. We need to fix this ASAP.

You can create a test account by signing up for a free trial at Camunda. The home page is the page you get to after you log in.

Can you please put together your ideas for fixing it?

Proposal

Last Projects

This is the main area of the homepage. It shows the latest used models or, if it is the first time the user enters in the platform, it shows a few model examples ready to play with. This is not exactly the same table shown internally, because it also has the project to which every model belongs and an icon button to share. A primary button encourage the user to create a new model a keep using the platform. I kown this is just a wireframe, but I tweaked the color of some fonts because they don’t pass an accessibility test.

First Steps

The documentation area was so plain and with a lot of text. I tweaked it to make it more visual and marketing oriented, reinforcing those articles we want to be sure that a new user reads.

Our Community

Similar than First Steps, I made it more simple, with less text and more images, big clickable areas and a simpler message. I followed the Fitt’s Law for creating all those buttons (https://lawsofux.com/en/fittss-law/).

Invite a colleague

I was told that the conversion rate increases for those users that share the app with others. So I think it could be a good idea to invite a colleague to test the app with you.

Improved concepts

  • To play with different types of models, to understand them and, at the end, to be able to creat a new one.

  • To make it more social by sharing models and by inviting collegaues for working (or testing) collavoratively.

  • To understand the basics (creating a model, connecting it with your app…) on simpler and more visual way. And to get help easily.
