Kalpana Chawla X AKIRA

Kalpana Chawla was an Indian-born American astronaut and aerospace engineer. She was the first woman of Indian origin to go to space. Chawla travelled to space for the first time in 1997, and later passed away on February 1, 2003, during the re-entry of the Space Shuttle Columbia, which tragically disintegrated while returning to Earth. Kalpana Chawla was a true inspiration to many, and her legacy continues to be celebrated by people all around the world.
