Challenge

The challenge was to conceptualise, design, and develop a personal budgeting app to promote mindful spending. Users can make monthly budgets for different categories and track expenses so that they can get to know their spending habits and learn to save money for things they enjoy. By creating households, users can share and split expenses with their partner, flatmates or friends. Personalised insights and actionable suggestions should be integrated to help users make informed spending decisions and develop financial mindfulness.

Concept and Design

The goal was to design the user interface in a minimalistic, intuitive, and accessible way to allow users to easily create budgets for different categories, to log transactions, to analyse their income and expenses, and to split expenses with household members.

Both a mobile and a web version of the app were designed and developed to allow users to flexibly manage their finances wherever they are, independent of the device they're using.
