First Name / Last Name: The Name Game

Been thinking about the First Name/Last Name problem in online forms while booking air tickets or hotels etc. We have many formats across Chinese, Indian and Malay names. I began experimenting/over-engineering a possible solutions to hopefully solve this.

Firstly, I just wanted to make it possible to arrange the order of the names.

Made some variations of the re-ordering module. Not sure if the label is required. I’m thinking it’s for people to reference the name to the right input field.

Started to realise there might be a need for middle names as well.

For Malay and Indian names, where surnames are typically the Father’s name. Is it required to include the Patronymic phrase/noun in the full name? (S/O, D/O, Bin, Binte)

Added the possibility of toggling the fields and re-ordering them as required. All this so that the names are captured accurately in the database and the system can call you by the right name.
