UX Design: Västtrafik To-Go App
Our objective for this project was to conduct user research on the existing app, identify areas that needed improvement, and modify the app accordingly. Our aim was to enhance the overall user experience by implementing changes based on insights gained from our research. I served as a UX designer and Scrum Master, and our team successfully completed the project in two months.
Our design process began with empathizing, during which we conducted surveys and user interviews, created personas, and developed a customer journey. We selected a student named 'Malin Lundin' as our primary persona and even created a profile video for her.
In the define stage, we conducted usability tests in four scenarios related to the Västtrafik To-Go app, identifying issues such as the lack of a 'Student Ticket' option, uncertainty about bicycle rules, a confusing map function, and excessive text.
During the ideate stage, we used mid-fidelity wireframes to deliver our ideation results, and we developed high-fidelity wireframes based on our previous findings and solutions during the prototype stage.
After receiving positive feedback from our test participants, we made minor changes to colors and navigation flows, and our final design is now ready to be presented.
Through this project, we learned that communication with the client before the project starts is crucial to improve the overall process. We also discovered more usability issues during the initial stages of testing, indicating the need for further improvements.
This project was divided into two parts, and two different groups were involved. Our team consisted of the following members:
UX research team: Fredrik Aidefors, Elvira Nyberg,
UX design team: Linnea Berggren, Marjan Jabinpishe, Sophia Hjörnhede
Thank you everyone!
