Libraries built on the donation of the Scottish-American entrepreneur and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919).

A total of 2,509 Carnegie libraries were built between 1883 and 1929, including 1,689 in the United States, 660 in Great Britain and Ireland, 125 in Canada, and another 35 in Australia, New Zealand, Serbia, the Caribbean, Mauritius and Fiji.
