Night and Light modes in design

Most modern phone apps provide users with the option to switch between light and night modes based on their preferences and needs.

Some apps may also allow users to set a schedule for automatically switching between the two modes, based on the time of day or ambient light levels.

Light mode uses brighter colors and a white background. This mode is typically used during the day or in well-lit environments, as it helps to enhance the visibility of text and graphics.

Night mode, on the other hand, uses darker colors and a black or dark grey background. This mode is intended for use in low-light environments or at night, as it can reduce eye strain and prevent the screen from being too bright in dark environments.
