LayeReName: Streamline layer & text renaming in Figma

LayeReName

Meet LayeReName, a simple yet handy Figma plugin I developed using GPT-4 and basic knowledge of HTML and CSS! This modest tool aims to help designers streamline the process of renaming layers and text content within Figma projects, contributing to better organization and consistency in your design workflow.

LayeReName offers five straightforward renaming options:

  1. Title Case: Capitalizes the first letter of each word, excluding specific words like articles, prepositions, and conjunctions.

  2. All Caps: Converts all characters to uppercase.

  3. Lower Case: Converts all characters to lowercase.

  4. Title Case All: Capitalizes the first letter of every word, without any exceptions.

  5. Capitalize: Converts the first letter of each sentence to uppercase, detecting sentence boundaries using common punctuation marks like ".", "!", "?", and ":".

Additionally, the plugin allows you to rename the content of text layers by toggling the "Rename content of Text Layer" option, providing an extra layer of control over capitalization and naming conventions across your project.

LayeReName features a clean user interface that automatically adapts to your device's light or dark mode preferences. While LayeReName may not be a game-changer, I hope it can make organizing your Figma files a bit easier. Give it a try!
