SELAH

The brandname comes from the Hebrew Selah, a word used frequently in the Bible, often in the Psalms, and is a difficult concept to translate. It is probably a liturgical-musical sign or an instruction in the reading of the text, something like stop and listen”. Selah marks a pause in the song.

Thinking about the meaning of the term Selah and its implications, the musical term Dal Segno from the Italian “From the Sign” was selected as a graphic base for the imagotype. It is an indication made by the composer of the work so that the interpreter repeats a certain musical passage starting from the sign. Referring with it as a whole to the importance of stopping, listening and through internalization learn the message of Salvation that is preached to every man through the music of the band.

This is how, by stylizing the symbology of the term Dal Segno to add visual aesthetics, it is possible to conceptualize what would become the logo of the musical band SELAH.
