ridicol.ro

ridicol.ro logo mark and typeface

Not just merch, a vibe

ridicol.ro is an up-and-coming Romanian merch brand that doesn't take itself too seriously. This is not your typical clothing brand, it is a celebration of the witty ones, clever one-liners, tongue-in-cheek remarks, and a general disregard for the overly serious things in life.

A brand for those who don't conform to society's expectations and march to the beat of their own drum. The brand is all about celebrating individuality and embracing your unique quirks, even if they don't fit into the traditional mold of what is considered "cool."

This is getting out of hand! Now, there are three of them.

I designed three marks, each for a unique purpose. The main mark is used in the logo (next to the typeface), the alternative mark is a special design mainly used on mobile and for future animations, and the last mark is a graphic specially designed for limited edition merch.

Three marks design

Two fonts, chillin’ in a hot tub, 5 feet apart...

The star of the show here is Beastly with its whacky design, bold letters, and silhouette that screams for your attention, this typeface is used sparingly to emphasize various words that have a deeper meaning. Beastly is also used in the design of the "peeps" (you'll see them soon enough) by ripping out shapes from its letters for the body and hats.

Every star needs a manager, someone that is a professional in their field and there is no better candidate than Degular, a typeface that fades in the background, but at the same time is easy to read in paragraphs.

Both Beastly and Degular are created by the awesome people at OH no Type Co.

Man, you gotta stop letting peeps walk all over you…

These little mascots are called "peeps" and they are used to personify various merch categories. They are created from the letter shapes of Beastly.

Thank you!

I hope this post inspired you to create something awesome!
