JEP 2022 exhibition (Poster contest entry)
Poster design for JEP Exhibition 2022 (Journées européennes du patrimoine).
The theme is "Free time", free to be interpreted.
The jury panel is composed of Camille Rollier, Stanislas Natsios and notably David Carson.
My poster was exposed during 7 days at Madame T Gallery in Valangin. It is tied in 2nd place in the popular vote, and won third place on jury vote.
The concept
Free time. Are we truly free?
The theme makes me think about my daily life, where I am occupied all the time by my own thinking. I can think about daily matter, about works, about what I am seeing at that moment, about the future, the past, or even about random stuffs.
I, and many other, are simply not free. We may be free of our physical obligation, but our mind is always occupied.
The poster is meant to look free and relaxing from afar. However, once approach, audiences will find the heroine trapped in a torrent of thought, forming a net trapping her. A visual interpretation of her trapped by her own thought, during her supposedly free time. Each white strand is one of her thoughts, it could be random, could be work related, could be judging others, etc.
Thank for checking out my works !
