Rockwell Study 1

In 2021 I began my fixation on Golden Age Illustrator Master Studies, and it all began with this piece (at least as far as out-of-class work goes). These were two minor characters I had come up with at the time, and I wanted to give a snapshot of their relationship by chosing a study piece that I felt fit them well. I should mention for beginner artists out there: Master Studies aren't meant for you to copy 1:1 an artist's work. You should be re-creating the work by observation, and it is not an excuse to trace artwork. If anything it is meant to get you to try new techniques and styles that you can incorporate into your own work.
