Rose City Til I Die

Art Takeover Portland is a great event organized by the timbers army (portland timber mls supporter goup) and factory north (a kick@ss design agency in town factorynorth.com). The event featured 30 artist pennants, 6 agency flags and a number of exciting acivities. All the money raised was donated to operation pitch invasion who constructs local soccer fields. This year all proceeds were put towards constructing Bless Field in NE portland. (http://arttakeoverportland.com)

30 artists each designed a felt pennant based on a line of song from the timber army game chants. A limited run of 30 prints was run for each design. They were available to purchase for $30/each. I was fortunate enough to be selected for the pennant show as well as the agency flag design. My pennant was based on the line "Rose City 'Till I Die". I've been referring to it as, The Murdercycle. I placed death atop a mortorcycle and went from there. The project was extremely fun as a long-time portland timber fan. I did a lot of sketching and explored a number of potential directions before settling on the Murdercycle theme. The pennant shape proved to be a unique design challenge with the extreme taper
