NEWS APP - Design Challenge

“When we’re reading on the go, we often get interrupted by events such as the train arriving or social interactions with other people. Many interesting articles get abandoned or added to the ever growing “read later” list. How can you design an experience so readers can read effectively while on the go?”

  • A Design challenge from uxchallenge.co

But how do you actually do that? (My Approach)

The core problem is not being able to read articles without distractions. Because who wants that? Although I can not make the distractions disappear. But I can make them less noticeable.

My approach is doing podcast News. Podcast News would allow Users to keep consuming their daily news while changing between trains and generally traveling.

It also takes the "tiring" and "active" parts of reading out of the equation. So the User can comfortably consume their news while doing anything they want.

But happens when they close the App while listening? Widgets!

The User can listen to the News without opening the app. So I designed some widgets to go along with the app.

They show which article the User is listening to at any given time.

(For this project, I decided I won't check if this is possible with the IOs guidelines.)

What do you think about this Project? I would love to get some feedback on it :)
