We designed Coesa Home, Coesa’s photovoltaic and home temperature management app.

Coesa acts as a single provider for energy efficiency in the building sector, designing and implementing innovative and sustainable solutions for businesses, public administrations and individuals.

In the wake of the growing interest in renewable energy for the ecological transition, Coesa has intensified its activities in the residential sector by taking care of the entire energy upgrading process, starting from the procurement of funds to the installation of photovoltaic and thermal systems.

We designed Coesa Home, Coesa’s mobile app that allows users to manage their PV system and home temperature from a single interface.

We worked side by side with Coesa’s Chief Innovation Officer and the company’s technology partners, carrying out a process broken down as follows:

• Introductive meetings with the Coesa team to learn about the particularities of the industry, the company’s offerings, and the expectations placed on the collaboration with Moze.

• Prototyping of the graphical interface of the new app and User Testing activities to acquire, through the reactions of potential users, useful information to design the best User Experience.

• Finalization of the User Interface design of the app.

Needs Analysis

We kicked off the project with an introduction to the company’s business and goals by the Coesa team, who exposed us to how their systems work and the main use cases that the new app would need to satisfy.

After drafting and commenting with Coesa on an in-depth benchmark of the main similar apps available on the market, we completed this analysis phase by making the User Story Mapping of the new app.

Prototyping and User Testing

We built a prototype of the new app, focusing on the UX and UI Design of the user interface.

We then put the prototype to the test in a User Testing session. Getting feedback from potential users already in the design phase allowed us to validate our assumptions about the app’s main functionalities and gather useful elements to guide its future developments as well.

UX & UI Design

The insights gained from the User Testing activity allowed us to effectively finalize the design of the first version of Coesa Home. We designed the User Interface in such a way that it could be intuitive and communicate innovation.
