UI Design Case Study "Moon"
This case study was based on an NFT app called "Moon."
Overview
Goal: Moon is an NFT marketplace app that will help users find, buy, and sell digital art. The goal for this project was to make the app visually excited and easy to navigate.
Scope: Research different ideas to create a moodboard then create different designs using images and colors. Once the design is set, a UI Library will be created along with a prototype.
Role: My role for this project was to be a UI designer for an NFT app and create a design that is easy for users to use.
Moodboards
I started my moodboard by searching up key words on Pinterest and Google Images to get ideas and inspiration on NFTs. At first, I started off with general keywords and later narrowed it down to more specific keywords. I would get the images or colors I liked and put them into one big moodboard. After I got several images, I decided to split the images into two different moodboards. I picked out the ones I liked the best.
For my first moodboard, (on the right) I got images that popped out to me more in neon and in pop art.
For my second moodboard, (on the left) I got images that were more moon related and tried getting colors that weren't so vibrant. I tried getting the opposite of what the first moodboard was.
I noticed that most images used bright colors and it would get my attention a lot.
Visual Exploration
I started exploring the theme of “night” which is a black background with bright colors. This theme reminded me of how black could represent space and how dark it is while the bright colors would represent outer space objects that shine. I also explored using a dark blue background based on the image with the girl and the moon phases. That imaged popped out for me and decided to also have a representation of "night," but I personally did not like it as much.
Lock and Scale Design
After exploring with different fonts, colors, and images, I decided to go with neon colors and a dark theme to match how outer space is. I also incorporated ideas from my other designs that I created along the way to create one final look.

Takeaways
By doing this case study, I have learned how to design on Figma by scaling, exploring shapes, and prototyping. If I was able to re-do this case study, I would play around more with the prototype and be able to organize a better layout in some of my screens. Overall, I had fun designing and playing around with bright colors.
