Overview

Toplancer is an upcoming platform that allows tech professionals from Romania to index themselves, thus creating a national data base of people that are available for both freelance and full-time jobs.

In Romania, companies aren't that familiar with hiring freelancers when it comes to building digital products. Because of this, both companies and individuals have a hard time finding work or talent. Toplancer aims to fill this gap.

Another problem that Toplancer can solve is the networking side between individuals. A professional will now be able to search the platform to network with local peers.

Branding

I want the platform to feel professional but also retain a very friendly aspect, thus choosing a rather unconventional color palette if you judge it by what you usually see across Romanian platforms.

The logo itself is rather simple. Wanted to combine the word mark with a subtle graphic element that strengthens the "top" part of the brand, thus going with an abstract crown symbol.

Snapshots

Visitors will land on a page that features a brief introduction of the platform, followed by a search box where they can start looking for porfessionals. Additionally, they can see the most recent registered users, as well as various suggestions for searching people by different skills.

Initially the profile pages of individuals will feature minimal information that will entice potential employers to find out more about a particular individual. Since this is still under development, I might add more features such as some kind of mini blog and work showcase. By design, I don't wish for Toplancer to become a portfolio website, hence why taking the decisions above.

Development-wise, Toplancer is built using React, NodeJS and MongoDB.

There are a lot more screens that I'm not going to showcase at the moment, but I'm actually excited to show more in the future.

This is a personal side project of mine, so things can always change drastically since I'm not dedicating a lot of time thinking through the business aspect of it.
