Egle, Queen of Serpents

1698. Egle, Queen of Serpents

With this piece I wanted to go back to my roots and try to capture something so well known, but yet undiscovered. I started thinking about love, relationships and how everything works in between. How it starts and ends, how we start to miss the other half and how we crave the feeling of connection. How easily it can be lost and found again and again.

Thoughts about creativity.

I feel free and the love for illustrating is coming back. I love that I can put an illustration on hold and come back later with a fresh eye. I love having time to do the illustration. I also feel creatively challenged, because it’s not about powerful ideas or emotions. It feels like it’s about the details and nuances that wrap the whole piece and you can find little things no matter where you look.
