Nuclear Detonation in Nevada, in relation to Cancer Incidence

This was my final project for my Vector GIS class. This project was inspired by learning that over 1,000 nuclear detonations have takes place in a 50sq mi area of southern Nevada. While this is a sparsely populated region, it isn't free from people. The first map shows nuclear detonation sites, symbolized by type. It also displays cancer incidence rates for nearby counties. The second map shows detonation sites again, but this time, symbolized by yield size. It also shows which NV population centers are within 50 miles of any of these sites. Created 5/9/2022.
