Fallout: Mother Road - Conceptual Content

I'm thinking about writing a fan comic set in the world of Fallout. It would follow a young girl scavenging abandoned towns as she walks along Route 66 in central Arizona. It mostly takes place in the central region of Arizona, around Flagstaff, exhibiting minimal dialogue as the girl was born deaf and doesn't know verbal language.

From what I can gather in Fallout lore, Flagstaff was generally untouched by the nuclear bombs, so the environments shown in the comic should mostly be degraded and crumbling instead of completely destroyed, their original inhabitants having abandoned them for fallout shelters as opposed to being completely vaporized. I believe it would be interesting to see an abundance of snow, plant life, and the Grand Canyon itself in the setting of Fallout.
