Odense Film Festival badge style logo
Paper prototype design
I first attempted to draw some ideas with a simple pen and paper. For example how I wanted to font to look, how much weight the different elements should have and what illustrations should be included in the logo.
Fonts
After this I looked at Google fonts where I downloaded a few I found estatically pleasing and something that did not stray to far away from the brand identity. These fonts are a mix of sans and sans serif fonts. All are bold, I usually avoid italic fonts when doing logo design.
Color palette
When making my color palette, I attempted to make a moodboard with relevant images from the festival. Here I took out colors as highlighted below to use in the design. I was not certain how much I would use each individual color, but I find it to be a great tool to lean against when adding color to my design.
This high fidelity example of a badge style logo for Odense Film Festival 23 was made in Adobe Illustrator and uses some of their current design elements as inspiration. This logo is not an official OFF logo and only an example. These are the logo in different variations.
Secondary logo design
Since a badge style logo might not fit in well with every design that Odense Film Festival might use, I also made some alternative logo designs. One which is a longer and square logo that might fit in better on a webpage, and another logo which is also sort of a badge style logo but with less detail and no writing, which might fit in well on a very small design like a stamp or a small badge to put on your shirt.
Mockups
Finally I made some mockup design to show how the logo could potentially be used during the festival.
