Favourite Notifications Mobile App
Problem
A conceptual mobile app that notifies users of when their favorite beauty & self-care products are restocked and allows them to discover new products from brands they repeatedly buy from
Solution
• A simple, no-fuss app that notifies users when their favorite, sold out beauty & self-care products are restocked
• Incorporated a feature that keeps track of previous purchases and suggests setting a notification for frequently bought products
• Made it easy and organic for customers to discover new products
Sketches & Wireframes
Once I determined how the user would navigate throughout the app,
I began ideating and sketching what the interface design would like.
After sketching, I polished them up and turned them into wireframes.
For the most part, everything stayed the same.
User Testing & Iterations
Overall users enjoyed their experience with the app. The only thing
that stood out and was a common opportunity was they weren’t
clear on what the Suggested Purchases feature was.
To make it more streamline, I decided to change the Suggested
Purchase button to a button where they can add products they want
to be notified about. Once they click the “+” they can then search the
product by name, category, or brand. Once they find it, they can see if
it’s unstuck and if not, click “Notify Me” to set a notification for when it
is back in stock.
The design was also updated give a more modern, airy look and feel.
Brand Design
Things I Learned
• I enjoy conducting user surveys and creating affinity maps. They both have very helpful in gathering data.
• This was my second time making user flows and while I like designing in Adobe XD, I like the experience of in creating flows and maps in Figma.
• It’s interesting how much the design changes from low-fisketches to the high-fi prototypes.
• How important gathering data before designing is. The entire process is from beginning to end is so imperative to designing a product that meets both user and business goals.
