Overall
online dating is becoming more popular in Japan, especially among young people. Reward party is one of the largest dating platforms in Japan and has a relatively positive reputation among users. Some users have praised the platform's user-friendly interface, which allows for easy navigation and communication with other members.
However, like any dating platform, there may be some negative reviews as well. Some users have reported issues with fake profiles, spam messages, or encounters with individuals who were not serious about finding a relationship. It is important to keep in mind that online dating, like any social interaction, comes with its own set of risks and challenges. It is always important to take precautions and use common sense when using any online dating platform.

The research
User research
This project will release in Japan. I started the project off by speaking to the end users. So lucky we have some Japanese members on the team and we have some interviews with them. The goal of an interview is to empathize with and understand the end user. I wanted to get their perspectives and understand all their pain points and needs through my research, I realized that the Japanese young are so busy. They spend a lot of time alone to work, on anime, manga, and idols and they can spend a lot of money to buy anything to donate to their idol...
Market research
Next, I conducted competitor research on other similar apps like pato. today and renkano-east.com... This allowed us to understand what works and what didn’t, what different between a dating app and a reward party
The general problem with dating app
Here are some common problems or challenges that users may experience when using dating apps:
Fake profiles: One of the most common problems with dating apps is the presence of fake profiles. These profiles may be created by scammers or bots to trick users into revealing personal information or sending money.
Misleading information: Some users may exaggerate or misrepresent themselves on dating apps, which can lead to disappointment or frustration when meeting in person.
Catfishing: This is when someone creates a fake identity or persona online to deceive others into forming a romantic relationship with them. Catfishing is a common problem on dating apps and can be difficult to detect.
Inappropriate messages or behavior: Users may receive unwanted or inappropriate messages or encounters with other users, which can be uncomfortable or even dangerous.
Lack of compatibility: Even if users find someone they are interested in, they may not be compatible in terms of values, lifestyle, or personality.
Safety concerns: Dating apps may expose users to risks such as identity theft, stalking, or physical harm if they meet with someone who has malicious intentions.
It is important for users to be aware of these potential problems and take steps to protect themselves when using dating apps. This includes using caution when sharing personal information, reporting suspicious activity, and meeting in a public place for the first time.
During my research, I realized some solutions can implement to improve user experience :
Simplify the registration process: Users can be frustrated by a lengthy or complicated registration process. Apps can simplify this process by allowing users to sign up using their existing social media profiles or by offering a streamlined registration form that only asks for essential information.
The decision is they can quickly register by LINE application
Improve search and filtering options: Users want to be able to search for potential matches using specific criteria such as age, location, and interests. Apps can improve the user experience by offering advanced search and filtering options to help users find better matches.
Enhance messaging features: Communication is a key part of the dating experience, so apps should offer messaging features that are easy to use and encourage meaningful conversations. Apps can also introduce features such as voice or video calls to make it easier for users to connect.
Implement safety and privacy features: Users are concerned about safety and privacy when using dating apps. Apps can improve the user experience by implementing safety features such as photo verification or by offering privacy options such as anonymous browsing or the ability to block or report other users.
Offer unique features: Apps can set themselves apart by offering unique features that cater to the specific needs or preferences of their users. For example, some apps may offer features such as video profiles or virtual events to help users connect in new and innovative ways.
We have 2 types of users Guest and Cast
Scenario
It was created to bring a better understanding of our target market, using the persona as the protagonist and developing the situation involving their problem and the solution for it.
Guest ( Yamada) It’s 8 Am and Yamada doesn’t have any more meetings for today, he decides to go to a bookstore at Tokyo tower. He wonders if someone around him could have the same hobbies come with him, so he decided to enter this app he can create an offer to look for somebody can join him for 1h from 9 AM to 10 AM He opens the app - create an offer with detail information he wants - After filling some detail he was able to see his potential matches. He clicks “Priority” on 3 specific profiles he likes. 10 mins later Sakura one of 3 profiles he liked applied his offer. She sends him the first message and they start a conversation and hang out together.
Cast ( Sakura) Sakura registers the app as a Cast and today she is available to work from 9 AM to 11 AM. Ting ting she got a notification to have an invitation from Yamada. She checks the detailed offer and feels interested in this offer. She accepts the invitation and starts a conversation with Yamada and hangs out with him.
User flow
User flow is the graphical representation of the paths a user can take, starting from the launch to all the functionality available in the application. Based on some key functions, I created some flow
Guest flow from open app create offer and enjoiy party with cast to the end
Cast flow from open app looking for offer matching and applied to join party
Site map
A UX sitemap is a hierarchical diagram of an application, that shows how pages are prioritized, linked, and labeled. If a user flow is like the street view details, the sitemap is like the bird’s eye view.

Wireframe
WireframesTaking the findings from research, finding helpful patterns emerged in quickly wire framing out the User Flows.
Design systems
One of my favorite things to do is build things that help people build things, such as UI Kits. Landing on key styles and components from wireframing helped clarify what was needed in tightening up the visual designs. Building for speed and consistency
Detail UI
Building and then leveraging the UI Kit allowed the high-fidelity designs to flow out quickly.
