MB Logo and Branding

MB is an emerging author whose stories include themes of fantasy, romance, and horror. She wanted a logo and social media branding that reflected the themes present in her writing.

The uneven lines and rough texture of the logo bring to mind vintage illustrations in old books. The imagery of the crow represents the theme of horror, whereas the rose and the hearts are representative of romance and fantasy.

It was definitely a challenge to create a logo that effectively represented the different elements of MB's writing, but we were both very satisfied with the result in the end.

We played around with different elements in the beginning, trying out a cameo silhouette in our revision, before choosing to go back to the first version with an added element of a crow.
