Case Study: Logo Design for Darling Law, P.A.

Introduction

Darling Law, P.A. is a criminal defense law firm based in Florida, specializing in representing clients facing criminal charges. The firm approached me for a logo design that would reflect their focus on superior client service and communication while conveying a sense of professionalism, reliability, and trustworthiness. They also requested to use a similar color scheme to their current logo.

Design Process

To begin the design process, I conducted research on the US legal profession and Florida's state symbols. I gathered inspiration from various sources, including logos of other law firms, symbols of justice, and images of Florida's beaches and palm trees.

After sketching several ideas, I decided to design a wordmark logo using a serif font to convey a sense of professionalism and reliability. I also customized the A letters of "Darling" and "Law" to resemble the handle of the scales of justice, incorporating a subtle symbol of the US legal profession.

To represent Florida, I included elements of the sun, beach, and palm trees in a subtle way by framing the wordmark logo with a custom rectangular shape. The top part of the shape represents the sun, while the bottom part is represented by two curved lines to resemble the beach and palm trees.

Color Scheme

The color scheme of the logo includes dark green, black, and white, which are the same colors used in the client's current logo. Dark green represents growth, stability, and trustworthiness, while black and white convey a sense of professionalism and sophistication.
