Daytona International 2023: Promo Banners

Objective

To create a horizontal and vertical promo banner for Daytona 2023 that uses design elements that express a feeling of excitement and action. Secondly, to remove logo decals from the stock car image and use provided logos in place.

Process

I first started creating the horizonal banner, as it would be easier from there to build the vertical banner. My process for creating the background design was by compiling numerous different texture backgrounds and used Photoshop to blend them together by using different filters, clipping mask, and effects to get the desired look of excitement that I wanted to portray. I then make a mask around the stock car asset and started the process of removing the logo decals on the car and making appear as it would without them. Once I had gotten the decals off, I started to apply the logos that I was supplied with, I used wrap and distort to position the logos so that they were fitted to the profile of the car. I placed the car into the blended texture background and used radial blur to make the car look as it is traveling faster. After getting the desired look of excitement and action I started to add in the headings and sub-headings for the poster, along with the sponsor logos to complete the design.

For the vertical banner, I went and cropped the background and car so that it fit in the centre and adjusted the text and sponsor logos accordingly.
