Lumanu, app for creators πΎ π
Lumanu builds technology that makes doing business in the creator economy easy, collaborative, and fun. With Lumanu, creators and freelancers can send and receive payments instantly as well as manage, protect, and grow their business. Additionally, creators benefit from a community that's built to support them at every step of their journey. By helping them manage operations, Lumanu empowers creators to live life on their own terms.
I owned all aspects of the design process from shaping to post development stages. I supported a few engineering pods for B2C and B2B web and mobile apps that included various tools like payments and collaboration. I worked on an accessible design system. Participated in user research, testing, and competitive analysis to discover areas of improvement and opportunities. Collaborated with Product, Product Marketing, and several Engineering teams; took part in hiring.
I had worked at Lumanu for four months when I started building the collabs feature. I had a chance to dive deep into the creator economy industry, meet my users and build empathy for them, as well as prototype, test, and "reprototype" a few features. I couldn't wait to build something super useful, industry game-changing and definitely challenging. As the Product Team and I were conducting user research (interviews, surveys, industry trends) and analyzing data, we saw a need and opportunity to build a new tool for creators where they could collaborate with their peers, freelancers, and brands. A place where they could keep all contracts, invoices, and deliverables in addition to communicating and editing content together. This feature became the one source of truth that could help them establish stronger and more secure and efficient partnerships. And that's where the idea of building the robust COLLABS tool was born.

π€ Final Thoughts
As soon as Collabs was launched, I started collecting feedback, tracking our metrics (via mixpanel), screen recordings, and hot spots (mouseflow). I would identify areas of improvement and work further with my PM and engineers to make Collabs better.I loved working on COLLABS , I liked the challenge: trying different design processes to achieve our timeline goal, go through rebranding in the middle of the project and overall build an intuitive and simple product for my users. I wish we have spent more time on research on the discovery stage to understand our user needs even better before building such a complex feature. I would sometimes find myself in situations where I was guessing what was the right thing to do for my users and I wish I had actual data from research.
