Proud to share my latest exploration of the Beu Restaurant App.

Introduction:

Beu Delivery App is a food delivery service provider in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, that delivers food from various restaurants to customers' doorsteps. During my tenure as a UI/UX designer at Beu Delivery App, I led the design of the Beu Restaurant App, which aimed to facilitate direct ordering from restaurants and save time.

The Problem:

Before the Beu Restaurant App, customers had to call the Beu call center to place their orders. The process of ordering food was time-consuming, and customers often had to wait on hold or face language barriers. Additionally, the restaurants faced difficulties in managing the orders and maintaining records. This situation led to customer dissatisfaction, low efficiency, and a lack of transparency.

The Goal:

The primary goal of designing the Beu Restaurant App was to create a platform that would connect customers directly to their favorite restaurants and eliminate the Beu delivery call center services. We aimed to make the ordering process quick, efficient, and transparent. The app also aimed to improve the overall user experience by providing a user-friendly interface and relevant features.

My Role:

As a UI/UX designer, I led the design process from scratch, conducted user research, created user personas, designed the app's user interface, and collaborated with the development team to ensure the design's feasibility. I also worked closely with the COO, Product Lead, CTO, and Marketing Lead to align the design with the business goals.

Responsibilities:

1, Conducted UX research to understand user needs, preferences, and pain points.

2, Created user personas and scenarios to align the design with the target audience.

3, Developed wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for the iOS and Android platforms.

4, Led usability testing and incorporated feedback into the design.

5, Collaborated with the development team to ensure the design's feasibility and alignment with the business goals.

6, Created design guidelines, style guides, and design specifications for the development team.

7, Communicated design decisions, rationale, and outcomes with the stakeholders.

The Solution:

After conducting user research and identifying the pain points and preferences, we designed the Beu Restaurant App to meet the following requirements:

1, User-friendly Interface: The app features an intuitive user interface that allows customers to browse through different restaurants, view menus, place orders, and track their delivery status.

2, Direct Ordering: The app enables customers to order food directly from the restaurant without involving a third-party delivery service. Customers can choose the desired payment method and receive an estimated delivery time.

3, Restaurant Management: The app provides a dashboard for restaurants to manage orders, view customer feedback, and maintain records. The restaurants can also update their menus, add promotions, and view analytics.

4, In-app Communication: The app enables customers to communicate with the restaurant directly in case of any issues, cancellations, or modifications.

5, Personalization: The app provides personalized recommendations based on the user's previous orders, preferences, and location.

8, Multiple Language Support: The app supports multiple languages to overcome language barriers and cater to a diverse user base.

Conclusion:

The Beu Restaurant App provided a solution to the problem of time-consuming and inefficient food ordering systems.
