Self-propelled Gun Howitzer – ZUZANA 2
155 mm SpGH ZUZANA 2 is a self-propelled autonomous artillery system with automatic loading of ammunition which is operated through a touch display.
The UI design for army operations of ZUZANA 2 puts its emphasis on:
Situation awareness about possible threats and events which can endanger the operators
Clear presentation of the information and possibility to act/react quickly
Deep integration with support units and subsystems
Tactical Display
The Tactical display is the main display for situation awareness. Data from different sources and systems (such as LINK, observation units, drones etc.) are integrated in one tactical map. The operator has an overview about all units in the area and can act and react appropriately in any situation.
System Health
The System Health display monitors the health status of the vehicle and its components. The operator will be informed about possible errors or faulty devices via alarm bar. The operator can further investigate the problems in the System Health display.
Barrel
The Barrel display informs the operator about the current position of the barrel. The operator can manually change the position and elevation of the barrel or use predefined templates.
Attack Planning
The Attack Planning display is used to plan attacks. The operator has the possibility to specify target, firing position, type of ammo, select a conveyer or create a firing sequence for moving targets.
Situation Reports
The Situation Reports display contains all reports from external sources, for example friendly units. The reports can contain information such as intelligence data, firing reports or targets updates, e.g. in the form of positions, video transmission or pictures of the targets.
***Mockups do not realistically represent the current displays in ZUZANA 2.
All information used in the mockups is based on publicly available data and were redesigned with the aim of improving the user experience for the operators.***
