Smile

Smile was made when Covid-19 was starting and mandates for people to wear the mask were being roll out. It was very difficult for some to adapt and was a real/harsh life change that people had to go through. Where I live I saw many people in line, wait to go in to a store, talk to their friends but at a very short distance or seeing workers at a store having to wear a mask or shied. When I briefly look at some of the people as I was walking in the store their expressions show they were not very happy. They expressed how much they hated this mandate and felt like they could not breath feeling of being trapped or felt really depressed about not being about to do simple things like touching or hugging each other, it was like they lost a part of themselves. Hence why I got the idea and name of this piece by putting on a mask it was like putting on a fake emotion on how they feel.
