Vertrag - Package Design

The prompt for this project was to create an abbreviated brand identity, brand story, and package design for a randomly generated product/theme pairing. The generator gave me "coffee for interpreters". My brain immediately went to my memories of my uncle, a German diplomat. I created a backstory surrounding the poker games played from diplomats, interpreters, and other staff at the United Nations in which they would stake high quality imports from their respective countries. The name, Vertrag, is the German word for "treaty", based around the secret collusion of Columbia and Germany in these fictional card games. From there, I wanted to create an elegant, modern package design with a hint of German tradition to it. I created a sleek blackletter font for the project, and incorporated topographical textures into it. I also created and photographed the mockup on which i mapped the graphics.
