Proud to share my latest exploration ofΒ the Mfine Online Doctor Consultation App. The Mfine Online Doctor Consultation App is a digital platform that allows patients to schedule virtual appointments with medical professionals. The project duration was six months, and my role was as the lead UX|UI designer responsible for the product's visual design and usability.
The Product: The Mfine Online Doctor Consultation App is a user-friendly and accessible platform that allows patients to schedule and attend virtual appointments with medical professionals. The app has features such as appointment scheduling, video conferencing, and prescription refills.
The Problem: The Medica team recognized that there was a need for a user-friendly and accessible digital platform that allows patients to schedule and attend virtual appointments with medical professionals.
The Goal: The goal of the project was to design a user-friendly and accessible platform that meets the needs of both patients and medical professionals.
My Role and Responsibilities: As the lead UI designer, my responsibilities included conducting user research, creating personas, developing problem statements, and designing user journey maps. I also created high-fidelity mockups and prototypes and conducted usability studies to refine the design.
Understanding the User: User research involved conducting interviews with patients and medical professionals to understand their needs, preferences, and pain points. From this research, we developed personas and problem statements to guide the design process.
Usability Study Findings: Two rounds of usability testing were conducted, and several areas for improvement were identified. These included making the navigation more intuitive, improving the appointment scheduling process, and enhancing the overall visual design.
Refining the Design: Based on the usability study findings, I refined the design by creating high-fidelity mockups and prototypes. I also ensured that the platform was accessible to users with disabilities.
Impact: The design improvements resulted in a more user-friendly and accessible platform, which led to an increase in patient sign-ups and positive feedback from users. One study participant commented, "The platform is easy to use and has made it much more convenient for me to schedule and attend virtual appointments with my medical professional."
What I Learned: Throughout the project, I learned the importance of conducting user research and usability testing to ensure that the design meets the needs of the target audience. I also gained experience in designing accessible digital platforms.
Next Steps: The next steps for the Mfine Online Doctor Consultation App include ongoing usability testing and refinement to ensure that the platform continues to meet the needs of its users.
