Ferry Booking app to boost Tourism
The ferry booking system for tourism in Assam is a crucial aspect of the state's tourism industry. However, the current design of the booking system is not user-friendly and does not provide a pleasant user experience. As a result, I have undertaken a redesign of the ferry booking system to enhance the accessibility, visuals, and overall user experience.
Scope of the project:
The scope of the project includes redesigning all the screens of the ferry booking system. The redesign will focus on improving the user experience and providing a more accessible and visually pleasing design. The redesign will also improve the system's functionality to enhance the user experience.
User Research
I conducted user research to identify the challenges users face with the current ferry booking system. My research included surveys and interviews with users who have used the ferry booking system in the past. Based on our research, I identified the following issues with the current design:
Lack of accessibility for users with disabilities
Poor visuals that make it challenging to find the information
Limited functionality that makes it difficult to book tickets efficiently
Slow loading times that result in a frustrating user experience
Design Process
I developed wireframes, and user flow diagrams to outline the user journey through the booking process based on the identified issues with the current design. I ensured that the design is accessible, visually appealing, and easy to navigate with a progress bar to track the booking process. The redesign includes a new vibrant color scheme, high-quality images of tourist attractions, a calendar to select travel dates, and an interactive map to show ferry routes and destinations.
