GrubList

GrubList is an innovative application that empowers individuals with low vision to conveniently order food using screen readers. In developing the app, extensive research was conducted to optimize efficiency by leveraging screen reader technology. The design process involved a deep understanding of how screen readers function, with a focus on their reliance on text and headers and linear reading approach. GrubList implements this knowledge through its effective use of headers and dropdown menus to guide the user seamlessly through the ordering process. To ensure clarity and reduce interference with the screen reader, the app is predominantly text-based and minimizes the use of graphics. With GrubList, users can confidently order their favorite meals with ease and independence.
