Kill your Darlings

"Kill your darlings” is an advice which most likely used to be a quote from Agatha Christie. It meant, that your best characters must die to keep the story really good and deepen the emotional investment of the readers. You can also apply that phrase to any kind of creative output. Designers, for example, sometimes fall in love with one of their drafts, even if it’s not contributing to the final purpose of the project. So get rid of your babies you love so much. See clearly and kill these darlings. At Katena Studios we do. Or at least try to.
