Proud Little Cat
Once upon a time, there was a proud Japanese cat who lived in the hills of Kyoto. She was a beautiful cat with a luxurious coat of fur and a regal bearing.
Every day, the cat would take long walks around the hills and bask in the warmth of the sun. She was a solitary cat and she enjoyed her own company, but she also liked to watch the humans who lived nearby. She was fascinated by the way they moved and talked, and she was proud that she could observe them from a distance.
One day, the cat noticed a strange man walking around her hillside. He was wearing an unusual robe and carrying a small bag. The cat watched as he stopped and took something out of his bag. It was a tiny, delicate flower - a cherry blossom. The cat was intrigued. She crept closer, wanting to see what the man was doing. He carefully planted the blossom in a small patch of earth, then he stood back and admired it. He glanced up, and his eyes met the cat's.
The man smiled, and the cat felt a strange warmth in her heart. The man bowed his head in respect, and the cat bowed her head in return. From that day on, the cat and the man would meet every day in the same spot, and the man would always bring a cherry blossom for the cat.
The cat was proud to have found a human companion. He was kind and gentle, and she was grateful for his friendship. Every day, she would watch him from the hillside, and no matter how far he travelled, the cat knew he would always come back.
