McMaster Social Work Students Collective Logo

The logo I designed for a student-run organization my friend helped run at the school I attended in Canada. I sketched and deliberated on a few ideas before I landed on this design, but the core concept remained the same: social work is about giving back. It's about bettering the lives of others. It's about empowering people and communities with the tools they need to engage and be valued as part of society. With this in mind, the first image that came to me was "yin-yang". A strong community takes work to build, and our best work comes from a strong community. They're deeply connected. I felt like this relationship expressed in the fluidity of the letter "O" in both words of "Social Work", embodied what the organization was all about!
