You have my heart

In this design of a sequence of red and pink hearts, I focus on the repetition of pieces of a heart in different positions to create the effect of the shape opening up and blossoming.

I used Illustrator to create a rough "storyboard" and draw out the heart shape and then moved into Photoshop for most of the design. I used a dissolve brush to create the speckled effect and created pieces of the heart that turn out and away. I grouped together different heart components and then stitched those compositions together into a GIF using the Timeline feature in Photoshop. Hope you like it and happy valentine's day!
