What God has joined together, let no one separate (Mark 10:1–12)
The command "what God has joined together, that man shall not separate" refers to marriage and divorce. It is found in the teachings of Jesus recorded in Mark (10:1-12) and Matthew (19:1-12). One day the Pharisees asked Jesus Christ if a man could divorce his wife. Christ answers in the negative: “Have you not read that He who first created male and female created them? And he said, Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.” Jesus meant that a married couple is what "God has brought together." Marriage is not a human invention, it came from the Lord and is part of His plan for the existence of mankind.
