Groover is a delivery app that is currently available only in Olongapo City that offers two main services: food delivery and concierge service.

Back in 2019, before the pandemic, delivery apps were not as popular as they are today, especially in provincial areas. This is why Gemini Sembrano, the founder of Groover, started an app specifically for their city. Although there was an existing app, many users started using Groover, prompting Sembrano to scale up and collaborate with White Cloak to help achieve his vision.

Although I was only the designer during the MVP stage and the app may not be as optimized as Grab or Food Panda, I believe that the team did a really good job with it. Here are some screens of the Groover app:

Onboarding and Sign in

The cute logo and illustrations were made by Harold Gadian, who is another talented artist and designer that I know.

Food Delivery Service

Groover's food delivery service allows users to order food from local restaurants and have it delivered to their doorstep. Users can browse through menus and place orders.

One of the unique features of Groover's food delivery service is that customers can order from more than one restaurant. The driver will strategize how to ensure that the food is still in good condition when it is delivered, and the delivery fee will be based on the distance to the farthest restaurant used.

After the admin confirms the customer's order, the Order Tracker will begin. When the driver is on the way, they will send their location, and the admin will manually add it to the system so that the customer can start tracking the driver's distance to their location. During my time as a designer, Groover only offered cash-on-delivery as a payment option.

Concierge Service

Groover's concierge service enables users to order groceries and other items from local stores and have them delivered to their doorstep. In concierge, users can input their request and specify the items they need, the stores they want them from, and any special instructions or details

The checkout flow is almost the same as the food delivery service, but the difference is that the customer will not be able to see the total amount of the delivery upon checkout. That's why confirmation with the admin regarding the estimated total price is very important for this feature. The customer will only know the total amount once it is delivered to them.

Delivery Management

The admin will have the ability to view and manage ongoing orders, processed orders, and order details.

Merchant Management

The admin will also have the ability to view and manage a list of restaurants, their details, and products.

Those are just the main features of the MVP. I truly hope this product scales up as planned because I love Olongapo City. I grew up there, and most of my relatives are still living there. I hope they use Groover 💖
