The self-written resume of Steve Jobs -presented at MWSF2000

It was so great to run into @metriksf at our mini-apple design reunion. Keara an I worked on numerous projects together but one I recall the best was the resume template Steve Jobs which Steve personally authored for the launch of iTools.

I have many fond memories of her work and cannot speak highly enough about her work as a designer. Here is the self-written resume that Steve wrote to demo Keara's resume template. Remaining the only Steve approved resume of his to date.

In the year 2000, the iTools Homepage demo was held at the Macworld San Francisco (MWSF) conference. During the conference, Steve Jobs presented his self-written resume as an example of the new resume template that would be available on the iTools Homepage. The resume template designed for the iTools Homepage was designed to provide a simple, yet elegant design that would allow users to create professional-looking resumes in just a few clicks.

Design Process:

The design of the resume template for the iTools Homepage was driven by Steve Jobs' vision for simplicity and elegance. He wanted the template to be easy to use, yet visually appealing to potential employers. The design team worked closely with Jobs to ensure that the template met his exact specifications.

The design of the template was heavily influenced by the minimalist design style that was popular at the time. The template was designed to be clean and uncluttered, with plenty of white space to help the content stand out. The font used for the text was a simple, sans-serif font that was easy to read and professional-looking.

The template was designed to be highly customizable, with a wide range of options available to users. This allowed users to tailor their resumes to their specific needs and preferences. For example, users could choose the font, font size, and font color for their text, as well as the background color for the template.

Conclusion:

The resume template for the iTools Homepage demo'd with the self-written resume of Steve Jobs remains the only Steve-approved resume of his to date. The template was designed to be simple, yet elegant, and it provided users with a professional-looking resume in just a few clicks. The template was highly customizable, allowing users to tailor their resumes to their specific needs and preferences. The design of the template was driven by Steve Jobs' vision for simplicity and elegance, and it remains a testament to his design philosophy and legacy.
