Move Fast - Card game characters

I was hired to create a set of characters for Good Mood Games, for their energizing game - Move Fast. It's a fun game in motion, that requires the players to switch body poses, according to the cards.

To follow that, the characters had to be hip, dynamic and joyful, 8-year-olds.

A crucial design guideline was to keep them fairly diverse.

After the concept sketching phase that focused on the faces, expressions and gestures, came the color and texture phase where a lot of the energy came in.

The resulting illustration style was vibrant and expressive.

Here are 3 stages of the process: 1-Rough line drawing with random color blocks, 2-Clean linework, 3-Final illustration with color, texture and lighting.
