Old Nike Italic [UNOFFICIAL]
Old Nike Italic is an attempt to expand the 1971 Nike logotype into a fully working font. One of the goals of this experimental project is to design the font so that it works together with the current Nike's brand font, Futura Condensed Extra Bold.
The 1971 Nike logotype itself was likely based on an old-style typeface called Caslon. But what makes the Nike logotype distinctive is that the logotype is composed with two ligatures, "ni" and "ke". These ligatures, for me, is what makes this project worth pursuing.
