Kippy! (kitten + puppy)! Is a dog walking and petsitting app created to be a simple and easy way to connect dog owners and care providers in the same area.

Problem

When surveying pet owners I realized that one of the main factors keeping people from using big apps like Wag! and Rover was price. With the high demand, dog walking prices have gone up and some people have taken dog walking as their full time job.

Research

My research showed me 2 very defined groups of dog owners 1. "my dog is my child, no expenses spared to be sure they'll be great when I'm gone." And 2. "This is our family's dog, low maintenance, being sure they have food, water and are okay is enough for us"

For group 1 there are lots of options, but for group 2 the options available right now don't align with how much they're willing to spend on pet care.

Persona

User Flow

My goal with the user flow is to be as smooth as possible, making the process accessible for as many levels of mobile proficiency as possible.

Wireframes

I work on the wireframes with the intention of really solidifying the simpleness I intended for the app, once colors were in many things were altered for the sake of clarity and usability.

Visual Design

The biggest challenge to me is creating the identity of my projects, I always want to make sure to use something clever so, I always trying to pictures how people would tell their friends how to find the app on the App Store. "It's Kippy! with and exclamation point, it's just the name and the i and the! are blue and orange." I chose those color for what they communicate. Blue to communicate calm and trust and the orange for warmth and comfort. I want my users to feel that we care about their pets and that they are treated responsibly.

As my first project I'm really happy with the outcome. I'm excited to learn more about how I can support community-building products with the skills I am developing right now. I know I will always be fond of this little dog walking app as the beginning of a challenging season.
