Salt Lake Bees Primary Mark

A couple years ago I had the opportunity to tackle an update to the identity system for the Salt Lake Bees, the Minor League affiliate of the LA Angels. There were a lot of odd inconsistencies and unusual line weights in the previous marks, (see attachment). The goal was to update and refresh, while maintaining the integrity of the previous mark, creating a consistent look across the entire identity system.

On a personal note, I had great incentive to get this right, as the original Bees logo – on which the previous version was based - was designed by my aunt's father nearly 50 years ago.
