Start of Life on Homepage

Start 'em young

As part of the initiative to increase awareness and engagement with Pet Circle's Kitten and Puppy pages, we redesigned the homepage to include direct links to these pages.

Before

We hypothesised that we could increase page views of the Puppy page by 15% and the Kitten page by 10%.

After doing some research and presenting a few design options to stakeholders, we ended up with the below design.

The Result

The stacked layout on mobile feels less cramped despite being the same height as the previous design. Dog/Puppy and Cat/Kitten are also clear as separate headers.

Taking inspiration from the previous mobile layout, this 2 column layout allows more flexibility in the Dog and Cat categories while maintaining a visual balance with the other species below.

So how did we do?

We achieved an overall increase in click engagement across all categories and in the 9 days between the push date and the start of a major sale, we noticed a 104% increase in Puppy page engagement and a 145% increase for the Kitten page! 🎉
